LOGAN — The body of a Logan man was recovered from Bear Lake in Idaho on Sunday after he drowned the previous day while tubing, authorities said.

Witnesses on kayaks in the area of North Beach State Park saw Martin T. Garcia, 27, fall into the water from an inflatable tube and begin struggling, according to a statement from the Bear Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The kayakers “immediately paddled towards the man to provide aid,” but before they could reach him, Garcia went under the water and did not resurface, the sheriff’s office said.

Several agencies arrived to search for him Saturday until conditions made it impossible to continue, authorities said. They resumed the search Sunday and found him in the lake about 1 p.m.
