TOOELE — One person was killed in a crash in the Rush Valley area of Tooele County on Monday.

About 5:35 p.m. a BMW as headed south on state Route 73 and had just passed a pickup truck at a high rate of speed when “for an unknown reason the driver went off of the road to the left. The driver and only occupant was ejected from the vehicle,” according to a statement from the Utah Highway Patrol.

Impairment was being investigated as a possible contributing factor in the crash, the UHP stated. It was unknown whether the man was wearing a seat belt. The name of the man was not immediately released.
