PROVO — Police say a gunman fired multiple rounds early Monday at the Missionary Training Center.

No one was injured when someone fired the shots from a white SUV about 2:30 a.m. toward the main security booth at the center, 2005 N. 900 East, Provo police reported. No information about a suspect was immediately provided.

“We are grateful that the shooting this morning at the Provo Missionary Training Center did not result in physical injury,” said Eric Hawkins, a spokesman with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A message was sent from BYU’s campus alert system saying police were investigating a drive-by shooting at the MTC. Anyone with information was asked to contact Provo police.
