HEBER CITY — Police say a Uintah County man died in a head-on crash on U.S. 40 on Saturday.
Robert Hoff, 54, of Fort Duchesne, crossed into oncoming traffic about 6:15 p.m. and hit a pickup truck head-on, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Hoff was pinned in the car and died at the scene as a result of the accident.
The driver of the truck was injured but is expected to recover, according to UHP.

Alcohol was being investigated as a factor in the crash, the UHP stated. Hoff was seen by other drivers swerving into traffic prior to the crash, according to troopers.
