SALT LAKE CITY — The 12-year-old boy who was killed after falling from his bicycle on Saturday is from the rural Utah town of Palmyra in central Utah County.
George Dunbar Oldham was reportedly riding through a field with his younger brother and alongside their dad, who was driving a utility terrain vehicle and pulling a trailer. George somehow fell from his bike or stumbled and ended up with serious head injuries when the equipment ran over him, authorities said.
The boy is the oldest of five children, according to a family friend who set up an online fundraiser for the family.
George was reportedly known for his “love of everything and for everyone, being known as ‘everyone’s biggest cheerleader.’ He was the best big brother to his 4 younger siblings,” the fundraiser website states.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office reported the boy’s family “is grateful for the support of the community but wishes to have privacy as they grieve.”
