A new Instagram post from Global Map Posts suggests Utah might be one of the youngest states in the country and one of the youngest places in the world.

The map, which you can see below, breaks down every state in the U.S. and several countries in Europe by five different median age categories:

  • Less than 35 years.
  • 35 years and more.
  • 39 years and more.
  • 43 years and more.
  • 47 years and more.

Utah shows to be the only location with a median age of less than 35 years, suggesting it is one of the youngest places in the country and Europe. You can view it on Instagram here.

Much of the Western U.S. hovers in the 35 years and more area of the map.

But the Northeastern U.S. — Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire — are ranked among the older places in the country, along with Florida and West Virginia.

Sources for the map include the CIA World Facebook Median Age Country comparison for 2020 and the Stats American Median age in 2019.

Historically, Utah has been considered one of the youngest states in the country.
