If you heard a lot of hammering, sawing and drilling this past week on radio station FM-94.9, it wasn't some strange new type of music being played, nor was it a chorus for construction workers. It was just an unusual "promotion" that was being played over and over to highlight today's format change on this station that has been "built" over this past month.

Starting Dec. 31 at 6 a.m., "KTOU" became "KZHT" and features a "dance/modern music" mix, billed as "the Rhythm of the '90s.""The Touch" is gone, but "Hot 94.9" is here with what station officials hope is a unique blend of music for the Salt Lake market.
