The New Orleans Saints signed first-round draft choice Craig "Ironhead" Heyward to a three-year contract Friday but did not include a weight clause for the 260-pound running back.

Heyward played his last season at Pittsburgh at about 260 pounds and there were reports he got as heavy as 280.

Terms of his three-year agreement were not disclosed. His agent, Bruce Allen, refused even to say whether it was around the league average of $1.1 million paid first round draft choices last year.
