For Kenny Loggins, recording Gold and Platinum albums, producing numerous chart singles and receiving Grammy Awards is something that just happens.

"The closer I can come to expressing myself, the better the songs are," Loggins said. "I'm not really trying to say anything to anyone but me. And the more I can touch me, the more I can touch others."Kenny Loggins will be in concert at the BYU Marriott Center, 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23. Tickets are on sale at the Marriott Center Ticket Office and all Smith'sTix.

When Loggins stops at the Marriott Center as part of his Back To Avalon tour, which is also the title of his recently released album, he will express himself through songs that have brought him tremendous success in the recording industry.

The first single from the Avalon album, "Nobody's Fool," is the theme song from the movie Caddyshack II. This single is the latest in Loggin's string of musical work for films. He has also written music for Caddyshack, Rocky IV, Footloose and Top Gun.

His recent Top Gun hit, "Danger Zone," went to number two on the national album charts and became a top ten hit. "Footlose" went number one in 1984 as one of the four biggest-selling singles.

But for those folks who knew Loggins back in the early 70's - when his singing career first began - they know the man as part of Loggins and Messina and know him for the hits "House on Pooh Corner" and "Danny's Song." The two split in 1976.

Loggins will come to the Marriott Center for the third time since his career began (the fourth if you count the time he fell off the stage and broke some ribs. That concert was rescheduled several months later).

As of Thursday about 4,000 tickets have already been sold, but there are still plenty of tickets left, Marriott Center officials said. They can be purchased the day of the concert for $15.
