An ongoing paternity suit prompted Houston Oilers General Manager Ladd Herzeg to tender his resignation, but team owner Bud Adams said Wednesday he had convinced Herzeg to remain with the club on a day-to-day basis.

Herzeg has acknowledged being the father of a girl, Megan Diane, born to Joann DiNicola of Houston Sept. 13, 1987, while Herzeg and his wife, Kathy, were separated. DiNocola filed suit seeking almost $4,000 in monthly child support and $10,000 in attorney's fees.Locally . . .
