A bitter battle over child visitation rights has resulted in the jailing of Cyndy Garvey, the former wife of ex-Dodger Steve Garvey, for contempt of court for refusing to let the couple's daughters visit their father.
Cyndy Garvey was arrested and booked into Los Angeles County's maximum security jail for women Monday after being found guilty of 43 counts of contempt. The substitute host on the CNN television talk show "Sonya Live in L.A." was given a five-day sentence and faces an additional 126-day jail sentence and 24 months probation at a Nov. 3 hearing.Superior Court Judge Frances Rothschild found her guilty of violating a December 1988 order that required Whitney, 13, and Krisha, 14, to spend every Tuesday afternoon and the first and third weekend of each month with their father, said Dennis Wasser, Steve Garvey's attorney.
