Ute senior tight end Dennis Smith, who tied his own school record with four touchdown catches in a game against Air Force, Saturday, has been named the national Offensive Player of the Week by The Sporting News. Smith's four-TD day helped him to three NCAA records, as well: most touchdown catches by a tight end in a season (18), most passes caught by a tight end in a season (73), and most touchdown receptions for a tight end in a career (24, ties the mark set by Purdue's Dave Young from 1977-80).
