Richard Schwartz will join Hercules Aerospace Company as president and senior vice president.
Hercules President Edward J. Sheehy will retire at the end of the year.Schwartz will also be a member of the company's management committee and will be nominated to the board of directors. He will be based at the company's Wilmington, Del., offices.
Schwartz was president of the Rocketdyne division of Rockwell International Corp., which functioned as the prime contractor on the space shuttle program. His primary oversight responsibilities included the shuttle's main engine, the small and large expendable liquid rocket engine systems and the space station power systems.
