Investigators tried to determine Tuesday whether arson caused a raging fire in an old factory complex that sent flames 60 feet high and burned out small businesses and artists.

The general-alarm blaze erupted about 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Riverside Mills complex, a 126-year-old factory complex. Before it was brought under control five hours later, many of the nine buildings in the complex had been destroyed or heavily damaged.
