A 13-year-old Bountiful girl was killed at Lagoon on Friday afternoon when she fell from the front seat of the wooden roller coaster.

Witnesses reported that as the car descended the second hill of the ride the girl stood up from beneath the locked restraining device, lost her balance and fell. The girl was riding with three friends, one in the same seat and two directly behind her.The ride did not malfunction, said Dick Andrew, director of marketing and public relations for Lagoon. The lap bar remained closed and no other passengers were involved.

The incident is being investigated by the Davis County attorney's office, Farmington Police Department, Utah medical examiner and the Lagoon Safety and Security Department, Andrew said. The name of the victim is being withheld until her relatives are notified of the accident.

This is the second death at Lagoon this season. Six-year-old Ryan Beckstead was killed April 30 when he fell from the back car of "Puff The Little Fire Dragon," a roller coaster for children.
