Denver Nuggets center Wayne Cooper signed a contract with the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, returning to the team that traded him five years ago.

Neither the Blazers nor the 6-foot-10 free agent would disclose terms of the contract. However, the Rocky Mountain News in Denver quoted NBA sources as saying he would earn $1.1 million a year for three years.Cooper became an unrestricted free agent July 1.
