The International Hockey League franchise at Saginaw, Mich., has been suspended for the 1989-1990 season by the league's governing board. Officials also rejected a proposal to sell the franchise and move it to Albany, N.Y.

Saginaw Hawks owner Eugene Chardoul said he had hoped to sell the franchise to Ben Fenandez, an Albany businessman. But the IHL Board of Governors voted 6-4 against the plan and suspended the franchise.
