Ray Perkins, whose team broke a six-game losing streak this weekend with a 23-17 victory over Atlanta, Monday was fired as coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Since coming to Tampa Bay in 1987, Perkins has compiled a 19-41 record. The Buccaneers are 5-8 this season.He is the second NFL coach to be dismissed this year, following Bud Carson at Cleveland.
