Doyle W. Buckwalter and Heikki J. Rinne, faculty members with Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management, have won the Exxon Teaching Excellence Award for 1989-90.
Buckwalter has been an associate professor with the Master of Public Administration Program at BYU since 1972. He was associate director of the Institute of Public Management from 1984 to 1987 and has been a member of the BYU Washington Seminar Advisory Board from 1985 to the present.He received a bachelor's degree in 1963 and a master's degree in 1964, both from BYU, and doctorate in 1968 from the University of Michigan.
Rinne teaches business management classes at BYU as an associate professor. Before joining the faculty in 1984, he taught at Pennsylvania State University and was a graduate instructor at Purdue University and lecturer at Northern Michigan University.
He earned a bachelor's degree at BYU, master of business administration from the University of Oregon in 1976 and doctorate from Purdue in 1981.
