K. Fred Skousen is first recipient of the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Chair of Management, funded through an endowment gift from the J. Willard Marriott Foundation.

The chair was established to expand and complement the activities of the dean of the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.BYU President Rex E. Lee expressed his appreciation for Skousen's service to the school. "He is a very loyal and productive member of the faculty. He has brought great enthusiasm to the deanship, and his desire to help faculty and students succeed is very apparent in his leadership."

Skousen received his bachelor's degree from BYU and his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois. He has been a member of the BYU School of Management faculty since 1970 and has received numerous awards for his academic excellence.

He was founding director of the School of Accountancy at BYU and served as its leader from 1976 to 1984.
