JB'S AGREES TO PURCHASE 6 PLUSH PIPPIN RESTAURANTS

JB's Restaurants Inc. has agreed to acquire six Plush Pippin restaurants in Portland, Ore., and Tacoma, Wash.

The six will be converted to the JB's Restaurant format. Following the sale of the restaurants, Plush Pippin Corp. said it will concentrate on its wholesale pie business.The acquisition doubles JB's penetration (from five to 10 restaurants) in the Portland area and strengthens its presence (from seven to eight restaurants) in the Seattle/Tacoma market. Following the acquisition, the Salt Lake-based company will have an operating base of 128 family-style restaurants in 10 Western states.
