Two trains hurtling through a railway tunnel collided Friday, killing at least 29 passengers in Taiwan's worst train accident, officials said.

Railway officials said 102 other passengers were hospitalized for injuries ranging from fractures to bruises.The private Taiwan Television reported Friday night that the death toll had risen to 34 as more bodies were found in the wreckage, but there was no official confirmation.
