Finn Christian Jagge of Norway captured his first ever World Cup victory today in the slalom, edging Italian star Alberto Tomba by 0.09 seconds.

The 25-year-old silenced a partisan crowd of 20,000 as he put together an aggregate time of 1 minute, 28.41 seconds on two faultless runs down the steep Miramonti track. Tomba, a four-time winner this season, finished in 1:28.50.
