Richard Pryor has suffered from multiple sclerosis for five years, says a spokesman for the actor-comedian.
Guy McElwaine said Thursday that Pryor's MS is in remission and is not life-threatening.MS is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system. Its cause is unknown, and its symptoms can include numbness, tremors and disturbances in vision, speech, balance and coordination.
The 50-year-old Pryor just finished filming "Another You," about a compulsive cheat, played by Gene Wilder, whose outrageous lies lead to zany goings-on.
