Todd R. Mitchell, 27, died June 8, 1991 in Salt Lake City.

He was born September 24, 1963 in Salt Lake City to Richard G. and Carol Ann Taton Mitchell. He was greatly valued by all who knew him. His enthusiasm, his intelligence and his deep caring for others, were immediately apparent.He received his BA in Political Science at the U. of U. where he was an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was currently a teaching assistant and close to obtaining his MA. He had planned to pursue his doctorate. Todd was an avid and outstanding athlete. His energy and caring were apparent in his contribution to the U. of U. Bennion Center, where he led programs designed to help Native Americans.

He served two years in the Peace Corps in the Republic of Gabon, where he taught english and was the school coach. His service in Africa strengthed his resolve to help those less fortunate than himself.

He will be sorely missed by his family, teachers, students and many friends.

A Sunrise gathering will take place Tuesday, June 11th, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., followed by a graveside prayer, at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South.
