David Justin Weir, age 19, died June 15, 1991 in Tauranga, New Zealand of injuries suffered in a bicycle and automobile accident.
He was born on November 23, 1971 in Provo, Utah a son of Dennis Douglas and Kathleen Moana Bird Weir.David had served as an LDS Missionary in the New Zealand Auckland Mission for six months at the time of his death. He graduated from Provo High School in 1990 and attended Brigham young University and the LDS Institute of Religion at Utah Valley Community College during the previous summer. David worked for his father at Rata USA Inc. for 10 years and had the opportunity to travel in the USA and Europe. He held various positions of leadership in both his priesthood and quorums and scout troop, receiving his Eagle Scout Award. David enjoyed music and played guitar in a local band previous to his mission. He also enjoyed cycling skiing.
David is survived by his parents, of Provo, Utah; two brothers and one sister: Stephen Dennis Weir, Megan Elizabeth Weir, Jason Andrew Weir, all of Provo, Utah; Grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Douglas T. (Lola W.) Weir, Ogden, Utah; Blanche Bird, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. at the Provo North Stake Center, 1122 North Grand Avenue, provo. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo on Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Stake Center on Tuesday on e hour prior to services. Interment Provo City Cemetery.
