Dr. William D. Odell, chairman of the department of internal medicine at the University of Utah, has been honored by The Endocrine Society with the Robert H. Williams Distinguished Leadership Award.
Odell has published extensively, served as president of the American Association of Andrology, the Western Association of Physiciansand the Pacific Coast Fertility Society. He was also vice president of The Endocrine Society.Odell came to the U. in 1980. Previously, he was appointed the first chief of the endocrine service at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. In 1966, he was hired at the University of California at Los Angeles Medical Center as chief of endocrinology and metabolism and later became chairman of medicine.
Odell has trained hundreds of medical students, residents and 52 post-doctoral research fellows in his 30 years.
