U.S. Open singles finalist Jim Courier and doubles finalists Scott Davis and David Pate will be joined by Andre Agassi when the U.S. Davis Cup team plays its semifinal match against Germany, the U.S. Tennis Association announced Tuesday.

The two nations will meet on red clay at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo., Sept. 20-22.Courier, the 1991 French Open champion, reached last Sunday's U.S. Open final without losing a set before falling to Sweden's Stefan Edberg. He also won titles at Indian Wells, Calif., and Key Biscayne, Fla., earlier this year and is currently ranked No. 3 in the world.

Agassi was a finalist at the 1990 and 1991 French Opens and the 1990 U.S. Open.

In addition to their appearance in the U.S. Open doubles final, Davis and Pate hold 1991 doubles titles at the Australian Open; Sydney, Australia; Chicago and Washington, D.C. Pate is ranked third in the world in doubles, while Davis is No. 4.

Davis and Pate will be making their Davis Cup debuts. Courier represented the United States in the 1991 first-round victory over Mexico and is 0-2 in Cup play. Agassi has a 9-4 Davis Cup record and is ranked eighth in the world.
