Duncan Kennedy of Lake Placid edged Olympic teammate Tim Wiley of Lexington, Mass., by a fraction of a second Saturday to capture the fifth event on the World Cup luge tour and vault into first place in the overall standings with one race remaining.

Kennedy, who leads Austria's Markus Prock 164-130 in the World Cup standings, had a two-run time of 1 minute, 25.527 seconds on the Mount Van Hoevenberg course. Wiley finished in 1:25.762.
