Bob Dylan has canceled an Oct. 27 concert in New Haven, Conn., because of a dispute between a stagehands union and the owner of the Palace Theatre.

Dylan is the first performer to cancel since the union began pic-ket-ing last month. The stage-hands say they were locked out after contract talks broke down."We're elated that a musician of Bob Dylan's stature chose to support us in this way," said Ed Mangini, president of Local 74 of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees.
