Clint Eastwood made it into a hall of fame for his love of jazz.

The actor, who directed the movie "Bird" about jazz legend Charlie Parker, was inducted Saturday into the Hall of Fame of the Lionel Hampton-Chevron Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho."I always felt sorry for young people who didn't grow up the swinging generation," Eastwood told an audience of 5,000.

Eastwood, better known as the "Dirty Harry" tough guy than a jazz fan, won a Golden Globe as best director for "Bird."
