Kenneth Victor Howes, 89, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died March 4, 1992, of natural causes, in Roy, Utah.

Born October 16, 1902, Cheltenham, England, a son of Edwin and Lavina Gregory Howes. On June 1, 1932 he married Vera H. Ross, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. His family immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1912, where he attended school. They later moved to Roy, where he lived most of his life.Ken was known for his great humor and wit. He loved his family and religion and was active in the LDS Church, where he served as a High Priest. In 1927 he fulfilled an LDS Western States mission. He and his wife also served a two year region mission to the Lamanites in Northern Utah.

Ken worked with his father as a professional landscaper and later in his life he became an expert in tree pruning. He worked for many years for J.W. Brewer Tire Co. and Farr Better Service. In 1949 he worked for the Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, as sexton. His favorite hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Vera, Roy; two daughters, Colleen and husband, Dale Tilley, Hazelton, Idaho; Patricia and husband, Gordon D. Brown, Provo; one son, Thomas E. and wife, Beverly Howes, Hooper; daughter-in-law, Sharon Howes, West Valley; brother, Gordon Gregory Howes, Roy. He was loved by his 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dona Howes, a son, Kenneth Ross Howes, two brothers, three sisters.

Services Saturday, 2 p.m., Roy 4th Ward LDS Chapel, 2100 West 5300 South, with Bishop James Pingree, officiating. Friends may call at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday, one hour prior to service. Interment: Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
