Melvin Carl Hunter, age 63, died Wednesday, May 6, 1992 in St. George.

He was born December 3, 1928 in Taylor, Utah to John Roy and Annis Bingham Hunter. He married Lorraine Murray, September 5, 1951 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.Reared and educated in Taylor, Utah, Mr. Hunter lived in Bountiful, Utah for 26 years before moving to St. George where he has resided for the past seven years. As an active member of the LDS Church he served a mission to the Texas and Louisiana areas and has served in many callings. He enjoyed his grandchildren, sports, fishing and the out-doors.

Surviving family member include: his wife, Lorraine, St. George; two sons, M. Roy Hunter, Salt Lake City; Lynn Carl and his wife Luann, Twin Falls, Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. Dave (Janet) Woolley and Mrs. Dave (Sheila) Penman, both of West Valley City; eight grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Roy B. Hunter, Washington, Utah; Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Stevenson, Weston, Id. and Mrs. Dean (Rozella) Sargent, Sandy, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 1992 at 1 p.m. at the Dixie Downs LDS Stake Center in St. George, Utah. Friends may call at the Metcalf Mortuary, 300 West St. George Blvd., Friday evening from 7-9 p.m. and at the Chapel on Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment in the S. George City Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary.
