She touched our lives in countless ways. She inspired us with her courage, embraced us with her love, and entertained us with her humor. Susan Cooper Jones, 34, of Salt Lake City, died June 2, 1992, of cancer. No person can ever fill the void she will leave in our lives.
Susan was born Sept. 18, 1957, in Orlando, Florida, to C. Floyd and Mary Anne Cooper. She attended Auburn University and the University of Utah, and was employed over the years by Wallace Associates, Inc. and Western States Management Corp.Susan married Cary D. Jones, June 19, 1984, in Salt Lake City. Susan and Cary gave life to two beautiful girls, Megan and Molly, both of whom possess Susan's beauty and enthusiasm for living.
Susan served numerous charities, including the Children's Dance Theater and th Junior League of Salt Lake City. Most of all she was consumed by her devotion to her family.
Susan is survived by her husband, Cary; and daughters, Megan Alfa and Molly Cooper, Salt Lake City; parents, C. Floyd and Mary Anne Cooper, Houston, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne and Brian Nelson, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mary Kaye and Jon Huntsman, Jr., Salt Lake City.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 5, 1992, 10:30 a.m. at the Amphitheater at the Red Butte Gardens and Arboretum (located at the mouth of Red Butte Canyon, which is east and south of the University of Utah Medical Center). In lieu of flowers Susan has asked that contributions be made to the Holy Cross Hospital Division of Oncology, Salt Lake City.
