Steve Timmons, who can become the first player in Olympic volleyball history to win three straight gold medals, heads the U.S. team named for the Barcelona Games.

Timmons, 33, is the only player to return from the 1984 squad and one of six to return from the '88 team.Making their second Olympic appearances will be Jeff Stork, Bob Ctvrtlik Doug Partie, Scott Fortune and Eric Sato.

Newcomers include Bryan Ivie, Dan Greenbaum and Nick Becker, who were four-year teammates at Southern California and played on two NCAA championship teams; and Carlos Briceno, Bob Samuelson and Brent Hilliard, the 1992 NCAA player of the year.
