Kenneth H. Mayne, age 77, died December 31, 1992 at his home in Deer Valley, Utah.
Born October 22, 1915 in Bingham, Utah to Edward and Elvina Miles Mayne. Married Blanche Cazier November 18, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah; later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.Kenneth was nationally known as a sports promoter and professional wrestler. He held national and world championships in amateur and professional ranks. He promoted major boxing matches including world light-heavyweight championship bouts between Archie Moore vs. Joey Maxim; Ezzard Charles vs. Rex Layne with Jack Dempsey as referee. Well-known businessman in real estate and hotel/restaurant business. Voted Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year. Veteran WW II.
Survived by wife, Blanche; sons, Kenneth (Bobby), and Shawn K.; daughter, Jodi L. Davis; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Don, Bill, Buddy, John; sisters, Lil Neilson and Betty Scott. Preceded in death by son Ronald (Lonnie).
Funeral services will be Monday, January 4th, 11:00 am, Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, where friends may call from 9 to 11 am. Burial, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
