The financially troubled American Hockey Association has suspended play indefinitely.

In a short statement, league president Charles Hodgins said the AHA has been unsuccessful in trying to find additional financing to keep it alive. "Over the next several days the league will continue to vigorously pursue financing and is currently negotiating with potential investors," Hodgins said Friday.The AHA has teams in Bismarck, N.D., and Fargo-Moorhead. Teams also play out of Hibbing, St. Paul, and Green Bay, Wis.
