Johnny Most, who was the gravelly voice of the Boston Celtics for 37 seasons, died of heart failure Sunday at the age of 70 on Cape Cod.

Most came to the Celtics for the start of the 1953 season from New York where he had broadcast the Brooklyn Giants and New York Knickerbocker games. He was the play-by-play announcer for the team through the glory years of the late 1950s and 1960s.
