The group is sponsoring an Adopt-A-Hawk program, which gives people a chance to contribute toward the research and conservation of raptors. Costing between $35 and $500, depending on the species, the packages include an official adoption certificate with the bird's vital statistics, a color photo and membership benefits in HawkWatch.To promote the program, Hawkwatch director Steve Hoffman will appear with a live hawk at the following locations: the Great Basin Natural Store in Foothill Village on Friday, Dec. 17, 4-7 p.m., and on Saturday, Dec. 18, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; and at the Wildbird Center in the Creekside Place Mall, 4849 S. Highland Drive, on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18-19, from 2-5 p.m.
