Two armed robbers apparently staked out a fast-food restaurant in Centerville for well over an hour before robbing it early Sunday morning, according to Centerville police.
The men, brandishing handguns and wearing masks with eye slits, entered the McDonald's on the I-15 frontage road north of Parrish Lane just after 6 a.m. Sunday, according to Centerville police detective Neal Worsley. They herded the employees into the manager's office, disabled the telephone and ordered the manager to open the safe. No shots were fired and no one was hurt, Worsley said.
Tracks in the newly fallen snow in the parking lot showed the men were parked there before the snow fell, Worsley said, which means they were there for an hour or more, watching the restaurant.
Employees were unable to give police more than a rudimentary description of the two men and gave conflicting descriptions of their truck, Worsley said. He's asking anyone who may have been in the area and seen the parked truck to contact Centerville police, 292-8441.
