Ron Nielsen, Richfield Care Center administrator for seven years, has been appointed Heritage Management Corporation's regional manager in south-central Utah.

He will be succeeded at the Richfield Center by Elaine Blackburn, director of nursing.Nielsen will supervise operations at the Canyon Hills Health Care Center in Nephi; Emery County Nursing Home in Ferron; Zion Health Care Complex in Hurricane; Cedar Care Center in Cedar City; and the Richfield Care Center.

The new regional manager earned a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and a master's degree in health-care administration from the Medical College in Virginia.

He began his employment with Heritage Management nine years ago. He was administrator of a 60-bed hospital and a 60-bed nursing home in Cortez, Colo.

Prior to coming to Richfield, he was a care center administrator in Colorado, Oregon and Salt Lake City. Nielsen is a member of the Utah Health Care Association and the American College of Health Care Administrators.
