The decision related to football at Weber State University is a significant community issue. Weber State has played football competitively since 1919, and its teams and its coaches have brought honor and distinction to our university.

With this as a backdrop, it seems an ungrateful gesture by the university to give the football program and this community such a large financial goal to meet in such a short period of time.Regardless of the wisdom in such an ultimatum, it is now the reality to which this community has to respond. We ask people to join us in support of the football program. If the football program is to be saved, only the community can save it by committing financial support and contributing to the program.

Meaningful community support will cause the university and its board of trustees to know that a recommendation to disband the football program is not what this community wants.
