Vernon Smith "Bill" Tennant has returned home to be with his Heavenly Father, December 13, 1993, due to complications from pneumonia.

Born November 9, 1907 in Attleboro, Mass, to Fred and Clara Smith Tennant. He moved to Salt Lake City, July 1929; married the `girl next door', Virginia V. Williams, April 11, 1930. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, November 29, 1973. Member of the Waterloo Ward and served faithfully in many ward and stake positions. Loving dad of two daughters.Bill was a wonderful craftsman. His love of building and constructing things with wood will be remembered by many people. He was a contractor and built many homes in the Salt Lake Valley. He went into semi-retirement in 1977. His love of golfing, fishing and hunting with his family, will be missed very much.

Surviving are: wife, of Salt Lake City; daughters, ReNee and husband, Joe Nielson, of Murray; Bonnie and husband, Fred Busch, of Sandy; grandson and granddaughters and their spouses, Flip Nielson, Joe and Alice Nielson, Roy and Debbie Nielson, all of Murray; Lyn and Kim Nielson, of Kearns; Elder Nathan Busch, serving in the Japan Fukoaka Mission; Brandee and Chuck Jensen, of Las Vegas, Nevada; Megan and Tama Busch, of Sandy; five great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Ruth Bell, Phillip, of Salt Lake City; Kate Kremp, Aggie Middleton, both of Mass.; Freddie, of West Jordan; Dick, of Indianola, Utah.

"Dad, we can only try to live our lives as loving and kind as you lived yours. May we never forget your caring."

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 1993, 1 p.m. at the Waterloo LDS Ward Chapel, 1623 South 500 East. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South (Bengal Blvd); and Friday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates.
