Jackson Cloy Tucker, 72, passed away December 13, 1993 in the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center from a lingering illness.
Born August 26, 1921 in Fairview, a son of Francis Marion and Mary Malinda Petersen Tucker.Married Virginia Acord, September 8, 1942 in Fairview, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She died April 19, 1980. Married Arlene Peterson Sidwell, February 6, 1982 in Fairview, Utah. He was a rural mail carrier, veteran of World War II. Graduate of North Sanpete High School and attended Utah State University. Member of LDS Church. Jackson served many years as clerk and later bishop in the Fairview North Ward. Many area farmers called upon him to shear their sheep each spring. He was always fascinated with watches and clocks, repairing both for many years and building novelty clocks. He loved music, especially when performed by family members. Children loved him and he was fond of them, always making them smile and laugh.
Survived by wife, Arlene, Fairview; one daughter and two sons, and their spouses, Ruth (Clair) Poulson, Duchesne; Brent (Grace) Tucker, Fairview; Wayne Tucker, Seattle, Wash.; stepchildren, Sonja (Larry) Orton; Elaine Shelley; Leon (Sandra) Sidwell, all Fairview; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Clea Erickson; Winn Tucker; Ruby Hansen; Elna Christensen; Donna Winters; Ralph Tucker and Una Lee Gustin. Preceded in death by son, Reid; sisters, Nola and Leatha; and brother, Floyd.
Funeral services Thursday, December 16, 1993 at 12 noon Fairview Second LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Ursenbach Funeral Home, Wednesday 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the ward chapel from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial, Fairview Cemetery with military honors.
