Leon Earl Weldon, age 65, passed away peacefully December 13, 1993, at his home in Salt Lake City, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 26, 1928, in Natoma, Kansas, to Fayette Earl and Verda Opal Matheson Weldon. He married Cornelia Trientje Vreeken on June 23, 1951, in Augusta, Georgia; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1964. He then married Erna Moesching on June 29, 1965, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an accountant for many years at Sperry Univac, and most recently Western Steel Co. Active High Priest in the LDS Church, served in various positions-recently as a first counselor in the bishopric. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was always ready to help any one in need. He loved spending time working and being with his family. He taught everyone to be the best they can be. He will be missed very much by his many friends and relatives everywhere.Survived by his wife, Erna, of Salt Lake City; four sons and four daughters with his first wife, Cornelia, Rod (and Crys) Weldon, West Valley City; Colleen (and Terry) Paswater, Albuquerque, New Mex.; Teresa (and Sam) VanRoosendaal, Salt Lake City; Mary Jane (and Rick) Cunningham, Sandy; Jeff (and Dixie) Weldon, So. Jordan; Connie Kay (and Mario) Anichini, Trevor, Wis.; and by his second wife, Erna, Bernhard (and Jennifer) Weldon, Provo; Thomas (and Susan) Weldon, Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren; sister, Lucille (and James) Post, Plainville, Kansas. Preceded in death by sister, Loretta Post.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 17, 12 noon, at the Canyon Rim Second Ward, 3100 South 3000 East. Friends may call Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
