Some Centerfield town officials feel they should get a little more money for their services, but the total monthly salary they are proposing per month would hardly buy a dozen gallons of milk.But they don't want even a meager raise unless residents favor it. So they will consider the matter further and get public opinion at the next council meeting.
Councilman Brad Jensen, who leaves office this year, presented the motion for increasing the salaries.
With the increase he is proposing, the monthly salary would be only $25. The mayor currently gets $9 each meeting, and council members are each paid $8.
When: Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. during the regular council meeting.
