Sean Allen scored 22 points and blocked seven shots to lead Southern Utah to a 69-61 victory over Northwest Nazarene of the NAIA Tuesday night.

Allen scored 16 of his points in the second half as the independent Thunderbirds (5-2) erased a 27-21 halftime deficit. Allen was 6-for-7 in the second half.Andy Ward added 11 points for SUU. Kim Blackner was 2-for-2 from 3-point range in the second half.

Northwest Nazarene (7-3) was led by Chad Herron who came off the bench to score 17 points. Emiko Etete added 15 for the Crusaders.

Southern Utah took its first lead since the 10:19 mark of the first period five minutes into the second on a 6-point run in which Blackner hit a 3-pointer from the right wing.

SUU took a 49-41 lead on a 10-point run capped by a Blackner trey and stayed in control the rest of the way.
