President Clinton told a golfing anecdote the other day that bears repeating. He told the Democratic Leadership Council that golfer Tom Watson had come to the White House as part of the American Ryder Cup team, which he captained.

"Hold this club, Mr. President," Watson said. "Now look at your grip. If you move your grip too far to the left, it gets you in trouble on the right. But if you move your grip too far to the right, it gets you in big trouble on the left. The trick is to keep your grip balanced in the center."We couldn't agree more - in golf or in politics.
