The earth lost one of its best friends when Carol W. Welch passed away Dec. 14, 1993, after an extended battle with cancer.
Born Feb. 5, 1946 in Lovell, Wyoming, to Arden A. and Margretta Lamb Watson. Known best for her love and care for other people, Carol was an accomplished writer, editor and mother. Carol also was acknowledged for her love of her students and those around her. Her ultimate happiness was to see that others were in the spotlight.Carol attended Utah State University, where she met and married her husband, George, Sept. 20, 1965 in the Logan Temple. She died a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Some of the greatest joys in her life were her family, her friends, her neighbors, and associates in the Jordan School District, where she worked for 12 years. Carol was a lover of good music and enjoyed her association with the members of the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir, which her husband directs.

She is survived by her husband, George; children, Stuart (Pam), Alan, Kirk and Christopher; four grandchildren; brother, Gene; sisters, Joan, Donna, Marlene; father, Arden (Lillian) Watson. She is preceded in death by her mother, Margretta Lamb, and stepmother, Thora Rollins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. in the Hillcrest 5th Ward Chapel, 915 E. Peach Blossom Dr. (9085 South). Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Saturday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
