Danny Bonaduce, who has seen his own share of trouble since he was a member of "The Partridge Family," may have helped avert a suicide.
Bonaduce, now a radio announcer at WLUP-FM in Chicago, took a call during his show Monday night from a distraught man in the Vancouver suburb of Surrey. The former child star kept the 32-year-old man on the phone for 31/2 hours and called police, who found the man at his home, still talking to Bonaduce.
Bonaduce told the Vancouver Sun that the man said he had lost his job for stealing morphine and planned to poison himself.
Bonaduce, who lost one radio job when he pleaded no contest to drug charges and another when he was charged with attacking a transvestite prostitute, said Tuesday, "There was a time when I was not too far from that guy's position."
